Guangxi Water Conservancy and Electricity Group's parent company-Guangxi Water Conservancy and Electric Industry Group Co., Ltd., formerly Guangxi Water Conservancy and Electricity Co., Ltd., was founded in October 1998. In 1998, in order to fully implement the major decision of "reform of power grid in rural areas, renovation of power management system in rural areas and same network and price for power for living use in rural and urban areas " of the State Council, under the correct leadership of the water conservancy department of the autonomous region, 50 enterprises and public institutions of Guangxi Water Conservancy System jointly funded the establishment of provincial power enterprises-Guangxi Water Conservancy Co., Ltd., as one of the two main subjects of the "one province and two loans" in Guangxi power grid construction and renovation in rural areas, which is fully responsible for the work task of the "reform of power grid in rural areas, renovation of power management system in rural areas and same network and price for power for living use in rural and urban areas " of 43 counties (cities and districts) in the region.
